Regular price R55.00 Save Liquid error (product-template line 117): -Infinity%
Variety - Borage Scientific name - Borago officinalis Approximate seeds per gram - 50 Pack Size - 20 grams Description - Borage also known as a starflower is an annual herb originating in Syria, but naturalized throughout the Mediterranean region, as well as Asia Minor, Europe, North Africa, and South America. This plant was thought to be native of Assyria, but is probably of North African origin, where there are other Borago species. It grows to a height of 60 to 100 cm and is bristly or hairy all over the stems and leaves. Vegetable use of borage is common in Germany, in the Spanish regions of Aragn and Navarra, in the Greek island of Crete and in the Italian northern region Liguria. Although often used in soups, one of the better known German borage recipes is the Green Sauce made in Frankfurt. In Italian Liguria, borage is commonly used as filling of the traditional pasta ravioli and pansoti. The leaves and flowers were originally used in Pimms before it was replaced by mint or cucumber peel. It is used to flavour pickled gherkins in Poland. Need a bigger sized pack? Regular price R150.00 Save Liquid error (product-template line 117): -Infinity%
Variety - Purple Coneflower Scientific name - Echinacea purpurea Approximate seeds per gram - 300 Pack Size - 20 grams Description - Echinacea purpurea (Eastern purple coneflower or Purple coneflower) is a species of flowering plant in the genus Echinacea. Its cone-shaped flowering heads are usually, but not always purple. It is native to eastern North America and present to some extent in the wild in much of the eastern, south-eastern and Midwest United States. It is also grown as an ornamental plant, and numerous cultivars have been developed for flower quality and plant form. Echinacea is popularly believed to be an immunostimulator, stimulating the body's non-specific immune system and warding off infections and also being utilized as a laxative. A study commonly used to support that belief is a 2007 meta-analysis in The Lancet Infectious Diseases. The studies pooled in the meta-analysis used different types of Echinacea, different parts of the plant, and various dosages. The safety of Echinacea under long-term use is also unknown.
