Regular price R12.00 Save Liquid error (product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%
This beautiful dark centred variety has 12 to 15cm flowers surrounded by glorious bronze-maroon petals. The branching plants grow 150 to 180cm tall with ten or more buds per plant. These produce exceptional cut flowers with long stems, lasting for several days in a vase. A late bloomer, the dark colour of Red Sun will standout in the garden, adding rich, vibrant colour to your flower beds. IMPORTANT TO NOTE : These sunflowers are open pollinated and as such variances do occur when flowering so it is not uncommon for a small percentage (no more than 20%) of the flowers to bloom as yellow, burnt orange and different shades of red. |

Carolina Reaper Pepper - Capsicum Chinense - The worlds HOTTEST Chilli Pepper - Seeds
Regular price R90.00 Save Liquid error (product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%
The Carolina Reaper is a hybrid chilli pepper of the Capsicum chinense species, originally called the "HP22B", bred by cultivator Ed Currie, who runs PuckerButt Pepper Company in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The Carolina Reaper was rated as the world's hottest chili pepper by Guinness World Records according to 2012 tests, averaging 1,569,300 SHU on the Scoville scale with peak levels of over 2,200,000 SHU. The previous record-holder was the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. Important to Note. Chilli peppers can be tricky to germinate and especially so with the rarer super hot varieties patience is needed as they can take up to 40 days to germinate in ideal conditions. We also recommend that a heat pad is used when germinating chillies of the Capsicum chinense species. All of our chillis are grown in isolation to avoid cross pollination. As chillis are rampant cross pollinators it is not uncommon for variances to appear in the fruit as chillis can cross pollinate with fruit from plants a few houses or kilometres away. The only way to ensure with 100% certainty that cross pollination does not occur is to use pollination bags on each flower when the plant starts to bud and before the flowers open.

The lavenders (Lavandula) are a genus of 39 species of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. An Old World genus, distributed from Macaronesia (Cape Verde and Canary Islands and Madeira) across Africa, the Mediterranean, South-West Asia, Arabia, Western Iran and South-East India. It is thought the genus originated in Asia but is most diversified in its western distribution. The genus includes annuals, herbaceous plants, subshrubs, and small shrubs. The native range extends across the Canary Islands, North and East Africa, Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, Arabia and India. Because the cultivated forms are planted in gardens worldwide, they are occasionally found growing wild as garden escapees, well beyond their natural range. However, since lavender cross-pollinates easily, there are countless variations within the species. Flowers yield abundant nectar from which bees make a high-quality honey. Monofloral honey is produced primarily around the Mediterranean, and is marketed worldwide as a premium product. Flowers can be candied and are sometimes used as cake decorations. Strawberry Spinach - Chenopodium capitatum - Exotic Native Amnerican Vegetable / Herb / Fruit - 20 Seeds
Regular price R20.00 Save Liquid error (product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%
Strawberry Spinach is one of the best-kept secrets of the herb world. A native American plant, this self seeding annual sets tiny, deliciously tender leaves that can be cooked like spinach or used fresh in salads. It also sets small red fruits in late summer and autumn that taste a bit like mulberries and are lovely fresh or cooked. You can use almost the entire plant instead of just one part, and Strawberry Spinach draws out this pleasure by setting new leaves all season long. Snip off just what you need at the moment, and harvest more later! The foliage is slender, deeply lobed, and appears in rosettes along long, slender stems. The berries are edible as well. Quite small, they resemble raspberries more than strawberries. The berries arise at the base of each stem, and a plant in full fruit is a glorious sight. Grow Strawberry Spinach in full sun (direct-sowing the seeds works best) and rich, fertile soil. It reaches about 45cm high and 30cm wide, and needs no staking or supports. Easy and trouble-free, it's an exciting new addition to the herb garden, vegetable patch, or even the flowering annual flower bed. |

The edible fruits and the multiple uses associated with almost all parts of the marula, make it one of southern Africa's most valued trees. The marula is a medium-sized to large deciduous tree with an erect trunk and rounded crown. It is one of the plants that played a role in feeding people in ancient times. The marula is widespread in Africa from Ethiopia in the north to KwaZulu-Natal in the south. In South Africa it is more dominant in the Baphalaborwa area in Limpopo. It occurs naturally in various types of woodland, on sandy soil or occasionally sandy loam. The fruit is edible, eaten either fresh or made into a delicious jelly. It also makes alcoholic beer known as Mukumbi by the Vhavenda people. A marula liqueur is available commercially. The white nut is highly nutritious and is eaten as it is or mixed with vegetables. Fruit-farming communities prefer planting a couple of these trees to attract pollinators to their farm in early spring.
