Found in Southern Africa, Angola and Malawi most are summer growing, but there are two species from the Cape Province of South Africa that are winter growing. There are also many colourful hybrids. Growing up to 75cm, this deciduous variety has stunning flowers with spathes of cream and purple blotches at the throat. Flowers summer to autumn and should be sown in the spring.
