Grow your own garlic with Hadeco, a staple ingredient in flavouring meat and vegetables. It is medicinal too with its anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiviral and antioxidant properties. Plant beginning March to end of May and harvest between October and November.
Purple garlic has a generally milder taste and scent, with larger cloves which retains their flavour for longer than the White Garlic. The organic pigment "anthocyanidin" is responsible for the "purple coloration". These cloves are surrounded with a thick and stiff 'neck' with purple stripes. Grown in the upper hills of Himachal Pradesh, it gets the Purple color only when the whole environment, air and water, is organic.
