Galtonia Candicans — Summer Hyacinth / Berg Lily | 7 Bulbs

Graceful, architectural, and quietly breathtaking — Galtonia candicans, commonly known as the Summer Hyacinth or Berg Lily, is one of South Africa’s most elegant native bulbs. Its tall, stately spikes reach up to 100cm and are adorned with pendulous, greenish-white bell-shaped blooms that bring a cool, refined beauty to any summer garden. A true South African treasure, Galtonia is at its most spectacular when planted in groups, where its soft, luminous flowers create a striking mass display from December through to January.

Best planted in a rich, loamy, well-draining soil in a position that receives full sun, Galtonia is a low-maintenance and long-lived bulb that rewards patience — leave the bulbs in the ground for at least four years and they will naturalise and multiply beautifully. Guard against snails and slugs during the growing season.
