Shop Manager (Full time position)
We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to head up our Ordering and Inventory management. The position is located at our offices in Rivergate Industrial, Cape Farms, Table View. Candidates need to have experience in horticulture and hydroponics and need to have a clear understanding of the following :
- Hydroponics – Nature and Scope
- Types of Hydroponic Systems
- Plant Nutrition and Understanding Nutrient Labels
- Growing Media and the selection of media for different plant requirements
- Basic Hydroponic Systems and Components
- Nutrition Management
- Climate Management Equipment
- Common Pests and Diseases
- Deficiencies, Toxicity and pH Control
- Troubleshooting Systems
- Grow Lighting
- Aquaponics and Aeroponics
- Experience and passion in propagating a variety of plant types both in a soil and soilless environment is essential (Vegetables, Herbs, Flowering plants etc)
- Financial understanding of business is essential.
- A background in customer service in a retail environment with great interpersonal skills is essential.
- A tertiary qualification in Horticulture or business would be advantageous.
- Own transport is essential.
- Computer skills are essential.
