The 7 Pod Chaguanas originates from the Island of Trinidad in the village of Chaguanas. This chilli is a Capsicum Chinense variety. It’s similar to the 7 Pod, but the pods are a more irregular elongated shaped. This chilli grows to just under a metre in a pot and would grow bigger, if you plant it out in the ground. The pods are 5 cm long and 3 cm wide and ripen from green to a beautiful bright red. It has a distinct fruity flavour and extreme heat. It is one of the world’s hottest chillies.
