✅ Top Tips for Lawn Seed Success



  • Prepare your soil: Loosen the top 5–10cm, remove weeds, and level the surface before sowing


  • Sow evenly: Use a spreader or mix with fine sand when broadcasting by hand for even coverage


  • Keep moist: Water lightly 2–3 times daily until germination (usually 7–21 days depending on variety and temperature)


  • Don't mow too soon: Wait until grass reaches at least 5–6cm before the first mow — never cut more than a third of the blade at once


  • Feed after establishment: Apply a balanced lawn fertiliser 6–8 weeks after sowing to encourage thick, healthy growth


  • Oversow bare patches: Lightly rake, sow seed, and keep moist until filled in
