Tripteris is one of eight genera of the Calenduleae, with its centre of diversity in South Africa. This genus was once classified as a subgenus under Osteospermum, but was separated in 1999.

20cm to 50cm plants bearing yellow flowers. Best sown in autumn and blooming from winter through spring. Has been known to grow through summer in the cooler mountainous areas.
