The Pumpkin peppers look like real, miniature pumpkins. They get hard and hold their shape when they are dried. The plants get 40 to 50cm tall and each plant can produce at least 35 fruit. The fruit ripen from green to red and if left on the plant they bleach to a burnt orange. They take several light frosts in the autumn without damaging the fruit. For easy drying, cut the plants and hang them up with the fruit attached. Peppers are mildly hot and turn from green to red when mature. If left in the field, they will bleach to a burnt orange. Plant has green stems, green leaves, and white flowers.
